Any ideas on how to interpret this?
Climbster - 28/Jul/13
It's pretty obvious I would have thought!
GPN - 28/Jul/13
I'd guess they installed it at (0,0) which was almost 2 years ago, I think. So, in that time it's widened by about 10mm and also slipped by about 10mm rightwards. I don't know if this is considered significant evidence of further instability though.
Nick Russell - 28/Jul/13
Yes, thank you for that. Perhaps I should have queried the significance, rather than the interpretation, which is pretty obvious, as you so kindly say.

It's all heading south!
auld al - 30/Jul/13
Cheers Al, good one. If it's all heading south at a rate of 5mm a year then it may be awhile before it reaches terminal velocity, I guess?

Not if its Centre of Gravity is only 1mm away from the fulcrum now....

Aah, now we're getting somewhere.
So, the lateral crack-line at the top of the buttress is readily apparent (See Phot) as is the continuation, which runs vertically down the side wall, but the way in which these fault lines meet is hidden.
Does this mean that it's not possible to accurately identify the fulcrum?

A long time since I was up there. Has it gone now? What changes will this bring to the route?
