    The view was shot from Le Signal, opposite the Dru, about ten minutes before a huge storm came in, one October afternoon. One last patch of brightness picked out the Dru. The Aiguile Verte behind was completely lost from view. The shot very clearly shows the parts of the Bonatti Pillar that have fallen down since the massive rockfall in September 2011. I got soaked on the short walk back to Montenvers station, and even wetter on the long walk back to Chamonix. The railway is closed for maintenance in October.
