Sean Kelly - 26/Jan/14
Hi Sean. No it's taken on an EOS6D which can practically see in the dark! It was a single 25 second exposure on a EF24-105L at f/5 and ISO320. Shot in colour and then desaturated in lightroom 5.2 to make it B&W.

Now that's lovely.

thanks very much, that's positive praise indeed coming from some heavy hitters such as Sean and Nadir. Both your galleries have some real stunning images in them!

Thanks for your explanation of the exposure, Dan. Such an unreal image, or rather unreal lighting here. Then again long exposures can create something completely different. There is also an overwhelming sense of stillness and calm. Certainly a very different set of images from the usual photos that we see on UKC. Well done!

thanks Sean. It's teh ambient light from the village below that makes it possible. And glad I managed to capture the stillness, that's exactly what it was like! It was calm other than the short burst of seven piste bashers that tracked from one part of the mountain to the other, now that was surreal.
