Maybe it is to do with the quiet villages, the cycling cols, French boulangeries, wine, swimming pools, vultures, . . . And perhaps even the countryside. Lavender fields below La Clue, near Buis les Baronnies.

This looks like one of those trips where you just go 'F*ck the climbing!!!' and go sleep under a tree for a fortnight.

thanks for the comments. Climbing related? It depends whether you view climbing as a nose to the crag sport, or as a lifestyle. It is the field you see when you leave the crag, and the landscape is for sure one of the reasons I go climbing. Discuss . . .
