This really captures the essence of winter climbing: cold, uncomfortable and even bizarre but worth all the effort.

If you've got the Damilano-Perroux book "Cascades Autour du Mont Blanc: Tome II", there's a picture of this climb in there with Robin Clothier leading. There it looks more like a Nothern Corries 'scratching' route. Maybe that's why it appears in a section of text philosophising about the perils of "le dry-tooling ... endangeureuse l'aetheticisme". ;-)
