Well done! I removed a similar pile from the threads all along the Chee Tor girdle that marked the tops of the routes that finished there, way back in the 80s. I replaced each bundle of old crap with a brand new 11mm length of rope and a HUGE maillon that had been done up in a vice. Only needed a few days before some bastard had come along and stolen all the maillons by untying then re-tying the knots...

For years I used to replace tat. But I just don't replace and mallions anymore. Unbelievable that people nick mallions.
