The photo shows Franco checking the climb prior to his attempt. Unfortunately conditions were far from perfect, the rock was still damp and greasy from overnight rain. The sun came out, the rock started to dry, then conditions changed to warm and humid...not ideal! Several hours later conditions improved and Franco managed the second ascent of this very bold climb [first climbed in 1986 by Steve Brown with a peg for protection]. Unfortunately, I was unable to watch and photograph the ascent as I had already left the crag. A couple of days later, Franco kindly sent me a video copy of his ascent...very impressive. Nice job Franco.
