Thanks - are the colours drab though? Nice bright blue top, etc. I could upload a B&W version though to see if people prefer that.

Sorry nick, should have been clearer, the top is a nice colour ;). I do find shots of the grit on flat overcast days to look a bit, well, grim. Particularly the background in this case. If you want to keep it in colour you could use a after-the-fact warm-up filter in PS, which might help a lot.

superb shot of a very well known problem - taking good pics of very common things is one of the hardest things...a slight shame the mat's there :o)
