Mid 1960's, a December day spent on Left Wall. Climbed on drilled out nuts with some free moves between aid. Hard work in the lower sections clearing snow and ice from crack to place gear. At the top held a spike to lean out to shout my belayer, spike failed and I fell from the ledge to below the niche. Boot lace in small nut used in upper section failed.
