It's quiet because various people, including UKC, the BMC, and the local village community have asked climbers to keep away from the area. It's been under a lot of pressure lately due to the thousands of people that have been trying to visit the Blue Lagoon, so if now is emphatically not the time to climb there (or post photos promoting how quiet it was). Access is very sensitive at the moment and if climbers are seen to be a part of the problem then there's a very distinct possibility we'll lose our right to climb there. The following thread gives an outline of the situation: /forums/crag_access/harpur_hill_quarry-719751

Just want to clarify that it was quiet due to it being a very early Tuesday morning. We are always cautious when we go and never park in the village and make sure we walk in to the crag away away from the village.
