Photo taken by Ken Jackson.
The pair decided to spend a few hours at "Castle" on the way home to Teesside. They "warmed up" with Thirlmere Eliminate! This was quickly followed by Triermain Eliminate, Ghost, Rigor Mortis and finally North Crag Eliminate....and still home for tea time!

That's incredibly impressive, Tony. I did the first four routes in the early '70s (somehow forgot about NCE - the best??) Took visits on four different days, though. Ghost, in particular, still had a reputation.

Hi Mick, yes it was very impressive. They had just returned home after a very productive few weeks in the Alps, so were very fit. I imagine the "Castle" routes probably felt like a "fun day" without the burden of carrying rucksacks.
