Thats a great shot to show how loose the eiger is.

Yeah every little shelf on the lower part of the face is banked out with lots of loose rock that has fallen from above. Even though it was winter and most of the large stuff was frozen into place there was a constant stream of tiny pieces coming down all the time.Too small to see but you could hear them whizzing past.

I dont envy you. I was sh***ing bricks just scratching up the rocks to the Mittelegi Hut on the South side!
