Apparently there are three such sculptures in the Lakes, artist unknown.

Andy Goldsworthy? He was funded to build lots of weird and wonderful stuff in Cumbria and Dumfries/Galloway. Mostly sheepfolds with odd structures inside but also stone balls and cairns.
