60x30 second exposure? By that you mean 60 separate exposures of 30 seconds? That over half an hour of faffing, why not one exposure of 30 minutes? Or then again, perhaps I'm missing something? Wonderful image by the way with not a ripple on the lake.

Hi Sean, thanks for your comments. Yes you can do one long exposure but then all your eggs are in one basket. I used to do one exposure with film because there was no other option. It's easy with an intervalometer, once you have the exposure nailed just plug in how many shots you want and go and have a cup of tea or whatever. Photoshop does a great job of stacking the individual exposures and it makes it easy to remove aeroplane trails or the increasing number of annoying satellite trails.
I just counted and it's actually 90 images making it a 45 minute exposure in total.
