    BUT, isn't a brockenspectre where you see your own shadow on the cloud below?

    The 2 tend go hand in hand - the brocken spectre is the shadow of the viewer on the cloud, the Glory is the rainbow around it - which you can see more clearly than the spectre in this shot.
