I have no idea - I was hoping someone else would enlighten me - there must have been about 500 of them linked together in a chain-like formation...very strange!

we have apicture of teh same thing from rocher sab. early may this year. they were amazing!

Processionary Pine Caterpillars! - so named for obvious reasons. They march out like this when they go feeding. Apparently if you make the leader follow the guy at the back they'll go round in circles until they die from starvation. whoever found that out was evil!

But serious pain, especially for dogs, if you touch those spines, we have warnings on the hills and published in the local rags out here!
