If you can climb this outside of winter then maybe you can climb to the moon. For mortals the avoidance of this 15m pitch is up a good VD semi-chimney just to the right. Once at the top the best thing to do is traverse left on the grass ledges back to the gully bed for the right hand chimney pitch, followed by the epic Great Chimney.

What makes this pitch so challenging, looks like you can just pull yourself up and your on your way?

That's perspective it's 8m. If the grass grows really really long and starts producing Amazon style vines then that might do it (there's always a chance of that, it's Great Gully after all). It goes under good ice and snow though. Normal line heads up a hidden chimney through the chossy loooking grass on the right of the photo.
