I am a photographer living in Chamonix, France. Having spent a few years on the French climbing team I decided to make photography my life. I studied at l’Ecole Nationale de photographie Louis Lumière à Paris, and have since taken photographs for outdoor brands and NGOs. I am represented by Gallery Jean Denis Walter in Paris and I have a lot of images with a French Press Agency, Hemis. I sell photos through my own website and late in 2023 my first book, Sauvage, was published by Glénat Editions.www.monicadalmasso.com
Update December 2024. I'm really excited to say that my book 'Sauvage' won the Best Mountain Image category at Banff!!!

About My Photography
My way of creating images is impulsive and spontaneous. I play hide and seek with the atmosphere around me, constantly seeking that spark, that jolt which create excitement and make eyes twinkle ; a vision of reality which doesn’t seem real, as if waking from a dream. Above all, I love representing all that is primordial and poetic in so-called hostile environments. I’m in my element in the wild, capturing images of nature and people, in raw habitats where anything can happen.
