I'm a climber the way Rincewind is a Wizard - Not particularly bold, nor skillful, nor strong - but I love it. I try never to turn down an opportunity to climb - I'm not particularly grade-motivated although I like to push myself, just not on every climb. I'd rather do an easy classic in good company than a testpiece with someone who's only concern is the numbers.Recently had my mobility severely attenuated by an arthritic hip. As a result I've allowed myself to get pretty unfit. Most of the climbing I do these days, I do on my own :( We'll see how that goes......

Tower Ridge with Avalanche Nick- his first ever Scottish route - 11 hours of climbing, but there were queues......
The Mortician, Borrowdale. A route I'd wanted for about ten years, and didn't think I could climb even as I was racking up below pitch 2 - you never know unless you try.......
