We are recruiting a Centre Manager for our World class Southampton site. Since opening in April 2021 Southampton has become one of the leading climbing facilities in the UK, hosting multiple national competitions, including BLCC, BMC Finals and Blokfest. The Centre Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre which offers bouldering, rope climbing, gym, climbing equipment shop, and cafe.

As market leaders, we have a proven track record in delivering a fun, inclusive and rewarding indoor climbing experience since the opening of our first centre in Manchester, in 2005. Across our 5 climbing centres we offer climbing for everyone; a passionate community that inspires and grows the next generation of climbers, and this is what we are keen to maintain and grow in Southampton. 

Our 25,000 sq. ft Southampton facility has become one of the leading climbing facilities in the UK, showcasing the Tokyo 2020 Olympic bouldering wall. We will provide a premium climbing experience, underpinned by the highest standards of safety, customer service and positive team engagement. Our customers will enjoy quality route-setting, excellent training and fitness facilities, delicious, locally sourced food and drinks from our café and the latest climbing merchandise and kit from our shop.

Open every day from morning until late evening, managing our centres requires an energetic and self-motivated person. Additionally, the commercially astute Centre Manager will be responsible for the profitability of the centre, development of the centre team and ensuring our customers have a fantastic and safe experience during every visit.

The Centre Manager will be well supported by an experienced company management team. We will provide training and development to ensure that the right candidate will flourish in the role and grow with the company.

We are looking for a month handover with the current Centre Manager so are looking for the successful candidate to join the Parthian team by 4th September.

Our ideal Candidate will have:

  • A proactive and positive attitude to customer service, staff well-being and developing business opportunities;
  • Proven experience of managing a team of people in a leisure related industry (Indoor Climbing preferred);
  • Experience in understanding and managing revenues and costs and the use of appropriate computer systems to enable this;
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety issues which arise in a climbing wall environment and experience in creating a safe environment for staff and customers;
  • Current knowledge of the Indoor Climbing Industry and a forward-thinking attitude in progressing Parthian Climbing's status as an industry leader;
  • A flexible approach to responding to issues which may occur outside of working hours.

Our offer to the Manager:

  • Competitive salary: £38,000 - £42,000

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 depending on experience
