What is the CWIF?

Well it is a bouldering competition but with a difference ...

There's over £4,000 prize money ...

NO COMPETITION ENTRY FEE, no isolation for the qualification round, a chance to climb alongside some of the best climbers in the world, and on problems set by some of the world's best route setters.

Sounds interesting? Tell me more.

The CWIF is a one-day event which encompasses a competition, a FREE BBQ, a FREE slideshow and a FREE after-party.

The first part of the competition is the open qualifiers - an informal part of the day where anyone can climb the newly set problems with scores being self marked on a circuit of 30 problems. These start off easy and get very hard toward the end.

This part of the day also includes a Team competition (4 people, which must be mixed gender) with the highest team score winning £500! You don't have to be part of a team but it makes it a more fun day climbing with your friends. The highest individual scores from the circuit part of the competition will qualify for an on-sight semi final and final on the Berghaus Competition Wall.

So it's a pretty big day! Is it actually any good?

The 2009 CWIF was an absolutely amazing event and one of the best competitions to be held in the UK. We've got an extensive gallery on the website and you can read an account of the day on our blog. If you're still not convinced, watch the highlights video of the event on Vimeo.

Wow!!! That looks amazing! What else can you tell me?

Over £4k in prize money, a FREE BBQ, FREE slideshow, FREE after-party and an informal triathlon, the CWIF is an amazing day. Much more that just a competition, the CWIF is something to be experienced. Find out more at climbingworks.com/events/CWIF10
