Centre Manager Vacancy - Manchester Climbing Centre

Following extensive refurbishment and development ahead of its 10th birthday celebrations in February 2015, the Manchester Climbing Centre has an opportunity to suit a highly motivated & detail-focused candidate.

As the Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the overall running of one of the UK's busiest climbing facilities. This is a diverse role which would suit someone with a solid background in leisure management. The successful candidate will be accountable for managing the Business Development Manager and Assistant Manager, ensuring the centre adheres to the company's established operating procedures and meets performance goals.

Overseeing and motivating a team of instructors, as well as retail, cafe, housekeeping and customer-service personnel, you will have a particular attention to detail and be motivated to achieve the highest standards in all aspects of the climbing centre, from course content and delivery to facilities management.

We are looking for a Manager who can continue to develop our vision for the Manchester Climbing Centre; to be the best facility possible for our customers, young and old, new and experienced.

Essential for the role:

• Previous experience in an operations or sales management environment
• Proven ability in leadership and the ability to understand, inspire and grow your team
• Previous experience of, and a solid ability to deliver health & safety assurance systems
• Commercial and financial acumen, with experience of managing revenue streams and achieving targets
• Excellent organisational skills, in order to deliver excellence in H&S systems & PPE inspection, HR, finance, marketing and other operational aspects.

Desired criteria include:

• Previous experience of the indoor climbing environment and its community
• Previous experience, or understanding, of modern marketing principles
• Facility management experience
• Training & monitoring customer service
