I'm looking to replace my ageing cycle helmet.  Existing one is Specialised, but next one doesn't have to be.  I have a wonky large head, and since I wear glasses a peak/visor would be nice.  Can anyone recommend a good cycle shop where there's a good range of helmets and I'll find someone capable of fitting it correctly/securely/snugly (straps etc).  I'm near Skipton, and most places in the Lakes (Keswick, Kendal etc) are reachable (always happy to have an excuse to go that way!), as well as Harrogate, Leeds, Bradford & Preston (and if it's really worth it, at a push, Manchester, ditto the Peak District)

Indeed it is.  Spent a very productive hour in there today with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, patient and attentive advice re helmet sizing and fitting from a nice lady called Freya.

Not the answer you want, but if you can’t get one that is otherwise right with a peak get a cap and wear it underneath
