Rest and be Thankful - is Old Military Road open now?

I've previously descended from Glen Croe (Rest and be Thankful) to Arrochar on a gravel track (south side of the glen, on the opposite side of the glen to the A83). That's in the forest with no views so I fancy the Old Military Road for the history and views.

There's currently some work on the southern end of the Old Military Road (link below). Does anybody who has been in the area on the A83 (or the Old Military Road) know if the roadworks can be bypassed by cyclists?

Assuming the road works don't extend far up the Old Military Road, it wouldn't be far (100m) on foot from Old Military Road to the A83 for 1km then onto gravel tracks on other (north) side of A83.

Anyway, does anybody know the current state of the Old Military Road for cycling?

This is essentially the route I did before (plus along the A83 lochside to/from Arrochar)

Hmmm, this looks interesting but tough, 300m ascent on a path rather than track....

I drove that way yesterday and pretty sure I remember seeing construction vehicles on the old road at the junction at the bottom. But take that with a pinch of salt as only half remembered!

An update for anybody who is interested.

Descent of the Old Military Road is highly recommended. Nice tarmac and unless there's some farm traffic the only other road users are livestock.

The Old Military Road is kept open for the farms along the road so no problem for cycling past the construction work.

Only livestock, except during periods of heavy rain when the risk of landslides on the A83 increases and then all the traffic is diverted on to the Military Road. The road works at the southern end is to allow the diversion of traffic to happen more smoothly.
