How quick drying are Bethesda boulders?

I'm out in Eryri tomorrow, I don't know the area that well for bouldering and was thinking of stuff round Bethesda, I.e Braichmelyn and Caseg (as I'm sick of not getting up stuff in the Peak and these look to have some nice vert stuff that will suit me). I see it's quite rainy this morning though, can anyone advise if they will be dry tomorrow?

I’m not local atm so can’t comment on conditions right now, but generally I’d say Braichmelyn is low probability if it’s been wet recently: quite sheltered and the woods hold onto damp - not the nicest to be boning down on greasy crimps! Caseg, might be alright, getting across the stream might be difficult if it’s rained a lot!

Sheep pen might be nice, will likely be dry enough and is beautiful. Looking at the forecast tanygrisiau might also be a good bet, the stuff below the dam road (minecraft wall/ tempest arete etc) are on beautiful rock and get all the sun going.

Lily savage might be worth a look too

Chucking it down in Trawsfynydd at the moment, a few miles from Tanygrisiau...

Thanks, good shout, I hadn't looked at the Blaenau ones as I've only got Boulder Britain for N Wales, the tempest looks mega, but I think I might be banned from high stuff on my own after smashing myself up last year.

In reply to Myfyr Tomos:

Minecraft wall/ tempest/ may queen dry out really quickly with a bit of sun and wind though, looks like a steady 15 knot breeze from the south west and sunshine tomorrow?

This problem is lovely and not highball. There is a lowball circuit at tanygrisiau but Tempest might be a bit unwise without a spotter! The pen y gwryd boulder is also really lovely rock and not too high

The pop block at drws y coed was dry yesterday tea time after a wet morning. Low height and 100m from the car. Not sure what grades you’re currently managing after your fall but there are a couple of worthwhile f6c 7a and f7a+ . Manageable as a solo venue with a couple of pads as the landing is flat.

Thanks, looks nice (allthough I'll be in Penmachno, so a bit further out). I actually quite like high stuff on my own, but should probably ween myself off it, at least until work are happy to give me another load of sick leave.

Nice warm breeze blowing through eryri tonight anywhere that catches the wind may be OK tomorrow which looks dry

Where did you end up and how was it?

I ended up with plan A in the end and went to Caseg, as it was still a bit drizzly in the mountains in the morning and the forcast was better out east. Conditions were fine, my arms were not! Got up Caseg groove after about a billion attempts trying clever static things before realising you just had to lay one on and the top is a jug. Headed over to Braichmelyn, and had some good goes but manged to split a tip on the razor crimps. Either way a lovely sunny day, almost too nice for bouldering. My wife did Crib Lem, I was quite jealous (but wasn't invited)
