I made a mini bouldering wall for just your fingers

My two passions in life are indoor bouldering and making puzzles. This contraption is my attempt at combining them. You place one arm on the grey "mat" and use your fingers to climb the wall. Weights simulate gravity so there is constant resistance and should you "fall" the barrel spins back to the starting position. The resistance makes it also a finger training device although for it to be effective I guess you would need greater weights and more of a campus board type set up.
Just like a real (artificial) wall it's covered in holes and t-nuts at the rear that allows you to set routes however you want. The holds were cast in resin from silicone rubber moulds which in turn were made from hand carved masters. The barrel was made from foamex.
I wanted to post a video but I wasn't sure if I am allowed to. I read the rules and have no idea what "unqualified links" means and some of the other wording was confusing. I am not selling this but the video is on my monetised YouTube channel.

That is delightfully nuts.

Hopefully it'll replace speed climbing

I saw your wrist lift off the mat on a couple of occasions. That’s not a send in my book but I suppose if you are happy with the style then it’s no skin off my nose…

Like an inverse dab!

Very Impressed! but for insurance reasons there needs to be a NICAS scheme created for finger bouldering and certainly under 18s are not to be permitted to use it unsupervised.

Until such point as a framework like NICAS or other exists to cover finger bouldering, OP must refrain from permitting or encouraging others to enjoy themselves on the puzzle. Sorry... insurance says so!

I agree. This is an issue that needs improving. You find yourself "lifting" without realising it. I did consider having a bar that keeps your arm on the mat but also allows you to move it left and right.

In reply to Tony Fisher:

Yeah, a bar sounds like a fair solution.

In reply to Tony Fisher:

Add a magnetic bracelet and a ferromagnetic board under the arm rest? You should be able to tune the magnet strength or the rest's thickness to allow for both easy sliding and enough feedback whenever you lift your arm inadvertently
