Ey up!

I need to buy a new bouldering pad so that I can climb in Burbage (popular outdoor bouldering area in Sheffield) however a concern I have is will the bus let me on with one?

Has anyone had any experience going on the bus with a bouldering pad?

The bus I would catch is the Peak buses from Sheffield - numbers 218 and 272/271.

Cheers,

Ben

In reply to bjfletcher: it’s been a few years, but I often used to catch those buses with a pad and never had any problem.

Cheers,

Nic

Similar, it's been a while, but it was never an issue in my experience.

Keep yer vest on, you'll be fine.

No worse than a big suitcase. Not going to be popular at peak times, but can't see an issue if there is space.

I often see people at the bus stop by the fox house with a pad. I think you'll be fine.

I used to catch the x84 out to Caley from Leeds with a mat most weeks and never had issue. Just be ready to shift it in case of wheelchairs / prams and such.

In reply to bjfletcher: Going by what Boris was allowed to put on a bus you should be able to get away with anything

I never had a problem getting on the bus with my Tetley's bouldering pad in my pocket.

You should be fine mate. I get the bus up to Burbage quite a bit with the pad and never had any issues. Just avoid the predictably busy times (lunch time on a weekend / bank hols etc)
