Just moved to the Leeds area and I'm looking to get out and so some bouldering. Caley seems to be my closest and looks amazing from what I can see.

I'm trying to get the topo for the area, Yorkshire Gritstone Bouldering vol.1, but it seems to be out of print. Does anyone have an old copy for sale, or is the Gritstone Bouldering from the YMC also a good coverage for the area?

Thanks in advance and see you out there

Ant.!

The Yorkshire grit guide has plenty of bouldering included, especially at Caley!

Might be worth joining Yorkshire climbing and communal climbing - Yorkshire on FB aswell. 👍

Yorkshire Grit Vol. 1 is the one to get.  Many of the local climbing centres and shops should have a copy somewhere.

The new Yorkshire grit guide from the YMC will do you. Aside a few eliminates and variations which are easily decoded from info on here on haven’t ever found it lacking.

Agreed - although it is very annoying to have to filter trad routes when you want to boulder and vice versa. Otherwise a lovely guide.

Yes I've wondered what they'd have been like if they'd done one volume for trad and one for bouldering instead!

“Yorkshire Gritstone Bouldering” by Alan Cameron-Duff. Published by Rockfax is your boy. That’s the bible

Also:

“unknown stones” website for multiple off circuit topos to premium crags that get missed. Absolute goldmine

Second hand bookshop prices are pretty high. If I found a new one I'd be tempted to keep it mint.

As my mate said :

“Best thing about Leeds is the bouldering and the brudenell.”

In reply to mrphilipoldham:

Bouldering would have sold out and they would have had loads of trad ones left?

Some duplicity with approach info I expect but (IMO) would have been nicer than the area division.
