The UK is internationally important for a number of bird species, which are often vulnerable during the nesting period. The BMC works in partnership with the conservation bodies to ensure a least restrictive approach is followed and in many cases restrictions are lifted as soon as the chicks fledge the nest.
Can you tell me if there are currently any restrictions at Helsby - last time I was there (about a week ago) there were no signs, although I thought I saw a Peregrine.
In reply to Guy Keating, BMC: was at stanage on sunday, saw the warden, he had just spotted ouzels nesting just right of anniversary arete, so this may be a new restriction
