Any access issues on the (King Charles III) England Coast Path?

This is a general request for information on any access issues that UKC users may have encountered while using the England Coast Path, now retitled the King Charles III England Coast Path (thanks Thérèse Coffey).

The BMC and other organisations have a meeting with Natural England coming up, to discuss how the project is progressing and this would be an ideal time to raise any problems which may have been encountered by climbers and walkers using the existing ECP or paths which will in time form part of it. Usually this will be paths running adjacent to the coast, often along clifftops. Paths leading to this from highways or normal public rights of way wont be the focus of this meeting, but may be relevant if the ECP is inaccessible for very long stretches due to lack of connectivity.

Post any issues here or email to jon.fullwood@thebmc.co.uk.

Thanks.

In reply to Access BMC (England):

What about the bits from Carlisle to Berwick and Liverpool to Bristol?

In reply to Lankyman:

Carlisle to Berwick - just use the massive open access area on your left.  Wales. - you can go the long way or the shorter way.

In reply to Access BMC (England):

I'm generally neutral on the subject of our monarchy but for some reason this renaming really pisses me off.

The bit from Clevedon to Weston-super-Mare is non-existant I think. Any way of finding out more?

In reply to pasbury:

That's ok - just call it the coastal path and that's as much passive resistance as required.

I expect Therese probably had in mind a system of signs with little crowns on it in the King's honour but I'd suggest a motif of turds in honour of Therese's sterling efforts at cleaning up the beaches

[ 💩 Berwick 3m >

<💩 Carlisle 5m]

[ 💩 Bristol 15m>

etc

I'm generally supportive of a reformed monarchy (further slimming still required) until someone shows me a fully thought through alternative that's going to be better, but I agree with you, this renaming grated.

In reply to camstoppa:I call her The LittleLady with the Knitting Bag. How on earth did she get to DWP and DEFRA, Liz Truss’s great aunt? And she did absolutely nothing about water treatment etc

What a shame Shitterton isn't on the coast.

That stretch is marked as "Approved in part but not yet open, establishment works planned or in progress for approved lengths".

Fuller details and various planning documents are available to view here - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coastal-access-section-52-notice...
