This via the local access rep for Arnside and Silverdale:

Romance is in the air at Warton Main Quarry. The Ravens are starting to nest and the Peregrines are prospecting nest sites. Consequently restrictions are now in place. 'Peregrine Watch' are monitoring the birds and hopefully restrictions will be lifted asap, possibly sometime early July. Check out RAD and notices on site.

There has also been a significant rockfall but no routes affected as its on the side opposite the climbs.

I walked in last week and saw a peregrine and two ravens. Plus a million and a half jackdaws.

After a brief visit some years ago my initial thought was 'They're welcome to it'. I may be doing the place an injustice though!

Just been in there. Only saw/heard one raven. Then the mist rolled in really quickly. Even the jackdaws were subdued.

Warton Main can be acquired taste

I revisited after a long gap recently and enjoyed the bolted stuff on the terrace upstairs. The good news is Martin the local rep has good links with the AONB and the birding community. If the ban can be lifted early, it will be. Ta!

I'm in the quarry now. Lots of jackdaws and crows as usual. The ravens are patrolling and I watched one 'escort' a pair of buzzards away. No sign of the peregrines but there was a kestrel hovering briefly over the slopes above. The rockfall is pretty obvious but it's not affecting the climbing.

ETA just heard what sounds like a peregrine calling from the far end. Four buzzards now circling above. Things are getting tense.

Wonder if there's any thigh rubbing going on?

I'll have to see if I can slip in a few Smiths lyrics

'Oh, Mother I can feel the rocks falling over my head' might be appropriate for Warton Main?
