Seemingly out of the blue, a remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was released a couple of days ago and jeepers, it is one impressive remaster.

It looks as though it's been rebuilt from the ground up and, graphically, surpasses Skyrim by a country mile.

Anybody played it yet? I've only done the first bit - essentially escaping the prison - but it doesn't feel like a 20 year old game anymore. Look at those textures!

Took on my usual build of stealth archer. Primarily because I'm a coward who avoids conflict. 😉🤣

I always enjoy these types of game. Playing ESO at the moment. I usually go for a brute who just whacks everyone with a heavy instrument because I've not got much co-ordination with my xbox controller.

I never really gave ESO a chance, although definitely should have.

The other one I'm playing through at the moment on Gamepass is Atomfall. It's quite cool, and a little odd, being set in the quarantined Lake District during a nuclear incident. They're absolutely nailed the Lakeland aesthetic though.

Regular downpours and Beatrix Potter?

A 2000AD writer was involved and they’ve been doing a short run story based on the game in the past few progs. So far, quite entertaining.

I'll give that one a try - thanks for mentioning it.

luckily I got so discouraged by the horrible levelling system in the original version that, despite loving the game, I hardly put any time into it. As a result most of the content after the intro will be completely new to me

i do need to finish KCD2 first before i download this though…

I got into the franchise from Morrowind onwards, recently completed Skyrim with my son for my 2nd time and his 5th. Love it, but I just couldn't get on with Oblivion.
