Planning a trip to Kalymnos but our flight doesn't get to Kos until midnight. What are the options available to us? Not keen on paying for hotel rooms for 8 hours or so. 

Sunloungers and wind breaks on Mastichari beach until the first ferry. I've done it it's not great and was surprisingly cold, but ok in down jackets etc. 

Just get a cheap room in Mastichari, have a decent sleep and a breakfast and then arrive fresh in Kalymnos for a day of climbing. Honestly don't think it's worth saving €40 or so sleeping on the beach.

Agreed, I guess it comes down to what price you put on a day's climbing.

I often see short sighted tightwaddedness amongst climbers. Save £20 by flying at some ungodly time which costs you half a day's climbing. Save 50 by flying Tues to Tues rather than sat to sat, costing you an extra day or two's annual leave.

Mostly I find challenging this behaviour falls on deaf ears.
