Just turned up at Sella to find the road closed,at the sharp bend nr the refuge. Obvious road improvements being carried out. Didn’t walk up as far as the main parking bays, does anyone have any UTD info?

cheers

No up to date info, sorry. We were thinking of heading up there in the next few days though so would be really helpful if you found anything out? Did you manage to climb there or head somewhere else?

back in the uk now, tried to reply to the thread while we were out there (bad signal)

we walked up past the barrier and all of the parking bays were fenced off, so we decided to turn round. As we got back to the car, a lorry returned that we’d passed in the way in. A chat with the driver (my Spanish is poor) told us that climbing was out of bounds, but if we parked further up on the left, we could “sneak” in. Didn’t fancy that though, HTH

The road from the refuge to the parking bays is closed for improvement work along with all the parking bays until the end of December 2022.

It is still possible to park on the road by the refuge and walk up to all of the crags. All of the crags are still open for climbing.

As Sam says, road is closed but the climbing itself isn't banned. In fact, there's houses up there so the road technically isn't closed either.

If it's the same site foreman as when I was there last month, he simply made us promise to not get hit by any big lorries because that'd get him in trouble. After a few days, he'd just smile and wave and wish us a good day on the rock. Some people just moved the fences and drove through, which caused a bit of friction...

If people do have access issues, worth talking to Rich at Orange House. Pretty sure they still own some bits of the crag and obviously have no issues with people climbing on their land.
