I've spent hours going around in circles to try and work out how we get an 11 year old into Italy with current Covid situations.

Has anyone here got relevant recent knowledge or experience?

As far as I can see it, if you're aged over 6, you need proof of Covid vaccination, or prior disease recovery to fulfil their "green pass". For an adult, the NHS covid pass counts for this.

In the UK there isn't a system of proof for under 12s.

What can I show them that will let my 11 year old in?

I checked this earlier in 2021 as we were going skiing in Italy (then didn't go because we caught covid) and I understood that for unvaccinated children, they gained a green pass through the vaccine status of their accompanying adult.

You can also enter on the basis of a recent (last 48 hours) negative travel test result - lateral flow or PCR. In theory the NHS test results don't qualify for this so to be certain it would be prudent to obtain the result through a COVID travel test provider.

Once in Italy my understanding is that under 12s are exempt from having to present a pass to e.g. enter restaurants etc.

are doing but not valid until they've been 14 days vaccinated
