How difficult is it to change GBP into SOM in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan?

It should be fine - there are a lot of Money changers in the centre - they usually have a digital board up outside with their rates.

Much easier to change and better rates for Euros and Dollars.  Lots of ATMs - I usually just use these. If you are taking cash, better rates for big denominations.
