This August two friends and I tried to climb this route and were brutally shut down on the first pitch.

Has anyone climbed this route? It may be an objective for next time I get to the alps.

In reply to Roberttaylor: Well as you can see its ages ago I did it so it's probably changed since then. I remember first pitch was hardest at about HVS up a right slanting crack past some pegs but the route finding was a bit tricky above. Andy Swann and his mate were in front of us and higher up climbed a groove at they said E3 5c in boots but we managed to find a way round it.

In reply to Roberttaylor: we did it june with lots of water coming down from a big snow patch, mate led a tricky damp groove and i got an interesting pegged lay back high up. We weren't entirely sure of the line, but a really good day out overall.

In reply to Roberttaylor: If anyone has pictures of the first pitch in particular that would be ace. I suspect we were on the wrong line (though I am sure there are several 'first pitches' on that face) and would like to know for sure that I am on the right track if/when I make it back.

Did the rte in 1983,got some old dodgy photographs out to double check, the overhanging groove / right wall of Berwyns photograph in the logbook is the first pitch,up the groove and then across the right wall on a couple of pegs.About vs plus a few points of aid for that pitch, then the rest of the climb was about hs/vs if that.Nice climb.
