For years I have worn Moon Cypher trousers, in fact it is a family joke, and our Daughter was surprised I did not show up at her wedding in a pair, it was a close run thing.

Something I really like about them is the construction and durability, I tried to get a couple of pairs made when in India and SE Asia and all the tailors said they are tricky to make and would have costed as much as I could buy them in the UK.

Over the years they have varied, string belts to tape belts and the way the bottom of the trouser leg closes. I assume that they buy a batch for the year from somewhere, and it depends on what the manufacturer can do related to cost.

Sadly the last batch have been a let down, string belt and leg closure and the colour fastness has not been great, and black was kind of a very dark green.

Therefore I am looking for something similar, any suggestions.

I was a big fan of some of the E9 Rondo trousers last time I bought some, I suspect that you might balk at the price now though (they are at least £30 more expensive than when I last bought some!).

I like (and still have) some Moon Jura, that I think are brilliant.  But I also have some Rafiki Drive pants - about £40 from trekking.com and I reach for the more often.  Durable, quick drying and generally do the job.

Have a look at the route one climbing pants.

They are a Skateboard company that have made good quality trousers for that sport for a while now. Some of these are great to climb in. However they now do a specific climbing pant.

plus you get two pairs for £70 which is cheaper than a single pair of most big brand climbing pants.

1%for the planet too.

They do look interesting, thank you, and the planet thing sounds good, though not a deal breaker for me. How do you find the sizing. I think I may give these a go.
I wonder if manufacturers look at market, ie climbing and price their goods accordingly, a bit like razor manufacturers did with pink razors, as they thought, correctly that enough women would pay more for a cosmetic product than men.

I have had La Sportiva Roots climbing pants and at the moment I wear La Sportiva Bolt pants
