I'm not sure that Gear Discussion Reviews and Advice applies to this but never mind.

My Mum obviously kept this in the loft and here it is (well the cover for the moment). If anyone needs photos of Climbing clothing of the day gloriously unbranded except for references to 'Dacron' or 'Stormpruf". Let me know, or you might need to review the newly released nylon version of the Good Companion tent.

It's a shame there's no pricing, but this was the era of glam rock and rampant inflation (25%).

As a former resident, I don't think I recognise that part of Greenock on the brochure cover (maybe somewhere up Breaside with it's more sheltered micro-climate)!  :-D

Given the barren empty spaces could it be the trophy room at  Cappielow ?

With all those palm trees it’s Largs or Culzean surely!

Oooh that's harsh (but pretty fair TBH)!  The mighty 'Ton 150 years young this year   Produced Andy Ritchie ('the idle idol' according to Alex Ferguson) and briefly the club of Stanley Mathews.

Ayrshire?!  Might as well have been the Amazon to your average mid-70s Greenockian punter fae Gibshill or Cartsdyke  :-D

I'm loving that orange colour of the title text. That very specific orange was everywhere from cagoules to plastic plates to well.. everywhere in the 70s and a little lingered into early 80s. I've seen some retro stuff but they never get that orange colour quite right!

Edit: why did that colour die out and never reproduced for retro, does it use some dye/pigment that is now banned for toxicity/environmental reasons? Serious question.

Edit/digression 2

50? Shades of Orange https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shades_of_orange  70's orange is "F46F0A"

I had a holiday in Largs earlier this year and didn't see anything like those hills. I think it's on the Cowal peninsula - Benmore Gardens going by the vegetation?

Wonderful stuff. Invokes happy memories of sitting out storms in a fortress Vango Force 10 outside the Clachaig whilst incinerating bacon on a petrol stove.

Serious answer. Donald Trump bought it all

Lucky you, I did my share of burning bacon and eggs onto a very stick frying pan outside an (obviously faded orange) Vango Force10 but nobody would trust me with anything more powerful than a meths trangia. Not even the brass paraffin primus

Blimey, external frame rucksacks.  I used to have one of those, back in the day.

Based on the car alone, and maybe the palm tree, that pic could have been taken in Iran at pretty much any time during the past 50 years.
