Does anyone have a pair of these? What do you think?

Also, if you have a large size pair, please could you tell me the size of your hands? I need to know what size to buy!!

cheers

In reply to gingermonkey: I have a large pair, and they are great. Durable, warm, they break in well. My hands are size 9? The larges fit fairly well.

HOw do you work out that they are size nine?

In reply to gingermonkey: Weirdly, gloves sizes are very similar to shoe sizes. If you are 1/2 size go up a size in gloves. It's only a rough guide but having sold gloves for quite a while now it seems to work 9 times out of 10.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,

In reply to Ian E B: Did you know that your foot is also the same length as the distance from the inside of your elbow (near the bicep) to your wrist, when your hand is bent at 90deg.

Incredibly sad fact to know.....

In reply to gingermonkey: Not tried the marmot ones

but I can say the outdoor designs gloves with the yellow leather palms are very good. They seem to offet both better warmth and more dexterity than my old cloudveils. Fairly cheap too.

Got a pair of these (not sure which size though without looking).

I would go so far as to say they are the best gloves I have ever owned - they are very warm, provide good dexterity and are very hard wearing.

I usually get through a pair of gloves per season (holes in fingers due to wear and tear) but these Marmot gloves are looking like they will last a few years.

I use them for all my ski, ski touring and alpine mountain stuff.
In reply to erikb56: Haha, I can just imagine people trying this out in their oiffices!

You must have big feet!

In reply to gingermonkey: Does anyone know where I can get a pair of Work gloves. Seem to be a limited number of places that sell them.

Thanks, Andy.
In reply to andymonkey: Cotswolds in glasgow had them I think, but they didn't have much stock.

Has anyone tried the Marmot XT, or Outdoor Research Extravert gloves? They were the only 2 pairs of gloves I tried on yesterday that seemed like trhey were warm and dextrous. (they didn't have any work gloves inmy size)

How do these compare with a pair of those bright yellow leather work gloves from DIY shops? I have a pair, proofed with Nikwax and they're good (the best gloves I've ever owned in fact) but not massively warm - they have a thin fleece lining but skiing in really cold conditions, or handling cold rock or metalwork, I often need a liner pair underneath and even that isn't always enough.

Neither is mine - mine is about the length of my forearm from my elbow to my wrist - about 11 inches.

No ladies it isnt!

In reply to gingermonkey: to measure hand size, use a tape measure and wrap it around your palm, excluding thumb, the circumfrence in inches is your glove size,
for outdoor gloves, clench your fist, it will only add 1/2 inch though

and handily marmot do a size chart
