An excellent project. But what a shame that more of this can't be funded through the taxes we all pay

I used to volunteer with the BTCV in the Lakes, we spent about 25% of our time repairing footpaths. I remember doing work on the Stake Pass and Stickle Tarn paths in Langdale (bloody hard work). The BTCV was essentially used as a cheap contractor by the National Park.

Does this not happen any more?
