Does anybody know if the Patagonia Das Parka jacket is still available?

I have been unable to find it anywhere... A few places I have enquiried at said it hasn't come in with there winter stock and they don't know why.

It's on the US Patagonia site:

http://www.patagonia.com/web/us/product/das-parka?slc=en_US&sct=US&...

but not on the Euro site so maybe no longer available in Europe?

In reply to johnflitcroft: Try contacting Patagonia Europe in Annecy, they are very helpful and might know of the location of a Das Parka...

Patagonia's European catalogue tends to be fairly seasonal- so the DAS will be in the winter catalogue.

"Itchy feet" have got small and medium in stock- at £195 I think.

it's not in this winter's euro catalogue so as you said there might just be the odd retailer with it.

Have you got an advance copy?
They're on the 'Fall' catalogue at the moment.

But lots of things they sell aren't in the catalogue - its more a showcase for the web (i.e. there's a picture of the R1 hoody but it doesn't actually get any text).

Have you seen the winter BD catalogues? A bit of a disappointment - they just show the new or updated products. Great cover picture on the ice climbing one though.

the Patagucci cover shot doesn't have a caption but i'm guessing it might be in norway.....looks pretty amazing.

I assumed it was an "aren't we green just printing little catalogues showcasing the new stuff. All the rest is on the web"?

Not got the Patagonia one yet. I'd still guess they weren't distributing the DAS Parka to Europe if it's not on the EU website.

Being a cynic I actually thought that they were hoping we would think this whilst actually they were saving on postage costs! I can of course totally understand why firms are going that way, but I've always loved the photography in BD catalogues. They tend to spend a year in the magazine rack attached to the wall next to our downstairs loo!

That's such a shame if true. Why on earth would they think that Euros wouldn't want to buy one of the best belays jackets out there?

In reply to Morgan Woods: Patagonia pic is taken on Pin Up, Kjerag in Norway.

In reply to TobyA:

it seems Pata is not distributing anymore the new Primaloft Das Parka in Europe - for this winter. I've asked in Chamonix two weeks ago (Pata Europe), since my old DAS has become older.

Maybe they think it's warmer here (Alps, Scotland, Norway or other). Or maybe they imagine us Europeans have a stronger, or more stoical, nature. A Puffball hooded will be enough for us!
