I have a set of RE Axels. Have taken falls on most of them including the small 0.25 and 0.5. Certainly not state of the art high end cams but they do the job.
Rock Empire is a budget option. Certainly good, cheap, and strong enough.
more spendy options might have a nicer feel and be lighter or fancier. But for a lot more dough.
as with others here, my first set of Cams was also from RE. Had a lovely trip to Praque and raided a Hudysports shop for those. Also brought some Triop jammies to Finland. And thats also about 20 years ago.
Bergfreunde.eu (or actually .de) has both RE Comets (single axel) and Axels (double axel, so DMM Dragon, new WC Friend, DB C4 copies). at a reasonable price.
Not sure if they also had a UK specific webpage (AlpineTrek?) and how Brexit affects things.
I tried ordering from Kouba website but as soon as you say you are in UK, all of a sudden the payment and delivery sections of the order form get greyed out. Other countries are fine.
