If I was to tie off coils and then use a ropeman instead of a prussic to redirect any potential load. Feels cleaner and quicker to ascend or set up a hauling rig. Can anyone see a problem with this? I guess the ropeman is hard to release smoothly when loaded?
Also, after a bit of playing around over the weekend my ropeman (mk1, rated 10mm-11mm) seems to work fine with a half rope, any one got more experience with using this ropeman and skinnier ropes, maybe with how they perform with icy ropes too?
In reply to alooker: Interesting idea, I've always used a prussic, but know a lot of people who just use a Clove Hitch, which is also what a lot of guides seem to use. Would also be interested in hearing opinions on using a rope man.
