Hi,

New to this forum so hope I’m posting this in the right place.  I was wondering if I could get some advice/recommendations for sleeping bags as I’ve been going in circles for the last 6 weeks.

My plan is do some wild camping in the Lakes, Peak & Dartmoor etc…

3 season bag – comfort rating around 0 to -5

I have BA raptide mat r4.2 and also ccf mat r 2.0

Ideally under 1kg – lighter the better obviously.

Budget £250 max (ideally £200)

Currently looking at:

Sierra Designs Cloud 800 20 degree

Sierra Designs Nitro 800 20 degree

RAB Alpine 400 or 600

Any other bags I should consider in that price range?  Any Sierra Design owners out there – would you recommend those bags?

In my opinion the best value bag available at the moment is this one

You may find some Alpkit bags fit the bill.

I've got two Alpkit Pipedream bags, and I can't fault them. I use the 200 for 3 season use, and I've got the 600 which was fine for snowhole use during both my winter ML training and assessment. Maybe the 400 would be nice compromise.

Yeah, I've looked at the pipedream range.  The Skyehigh700 looks like it fits my needs as well as in budget. Only con i can see is the regular size is 1.14kg but thats not a deal breaker.

I've used the Alpkit Pipedream 400 for a couple years now. Its been great, including a couple of cold camps in Scotland recently around -3 where I've still been warm.

Pack size is good and it weighs around 860g.

Purchased alpkit pipedream 400 today... Looking forward to testing it out in the near future.
