Thanks in advance for any help.

Heading to the Alps in a few weeks and Im replacing my older heavy bag. I was looking at an ME Firelite XL. 800g or so and pretty warm for the weight. I had the pleasure of using one last year before they hit the shops and it was brilliant. Bit of a heavy price tag so just thought I'd ask for some recommendations on here about which sleeping bags you've used that do a good job before I take the plunge and spend the cash!

that bag looks nice, but so bloody expensive! I'm sure you've seen, but this would be a way better idea if you want to save 200 squids:

Have you seen the Summer Lightning range from PHD? The Hispar 300 (rated for -5) is £399 (will be slightly more if you need an XL version). Only weights 580g and looks pretty amazing for summer alpine. http://www.phdesigns.co.uk/hispar-300-down-sleeping-bag?osCsid=k6j4ld44mkpq...

Alternatively you could look at Criterion (formerly Cumulus). The Quantum 350 (-6/695g/£270) or 450 (-10/805g/£297) might fit the bill. http://bac-e.com/sleeping/down-filled/criterion-quantum.html

I have a Cumulus bag from before they changed their name, the Prime 700 which has served me well for Scottish winter camping but I'm also in the market for something lighter for the Alps.

Edit: I haven't used PHD bags but they are very highly regarded.

That's a very good price for the Nutrino, but I may be a touch behind the pack with that one!
In reply to metrorat:

Not sure why I didn't go to the PHD site, headed there now to check those out.

Never heard of criterion, but am having a look at the range now!

Cheers guys!
