Hi all,

Next week myself and a few friends are going camping in the Lake District and are wanting to do a walk to Harrop Tarn which is near Thirlmere. I have seen that the road towards the walk is closed. Is there an alternative place to park or are we not able to get to the Tarn? Any help is much appreciated. 

According to the  local press the road has reopened (at last). You should have no problem with parking, enjoy.

If camping at Harrop Tarn I would take a few rubbish bags with you as it tends to attract a lot of morons who leave all there crap up there especially in and around the woods. 

I removed several bag fulls a few years ago when climbing on the little buttress up above the Tarn.
