Couple of things, 1) Has anyone done it recently - is us still feasible hut to hut without camping? 2) Proposing to go with my daughter, who has issues with her shoulder. How strenuous/avoidable are the strenuous bits, e.g. Mont Buet, Cheval Blanc and (particularly) the descent from Col des Ottans?
I haven't done it, but I just happened to watch a video of it by 'TVMountain' on Youtube yesterday.
That should give you a good idea. The chap presenting it, gave a description of each section in French. They stayed in huts all the way. There were a couple of sections where a head for heights would be needed.
that looks a lovely circuit. Parts of it will be quiet even in high summer. I have done a lot of it in bits but not been to the Susanfe. Coming off the cheval blanc is no fall territory and you can't easily protect it with a rope. T4 I would say. The buvette in the Emaney valley is a lovely spot in summer.
