In reply to dan bulman: Depends on the year. Some very experienced mountaineer friends of mine had to abandon their trek near there a couple of years ago because of late snow cover. You are always likely to find snow banks on the tops of cols. Important to be prepared by carrying a lightweight axe on the pack.
