Best fabric for withstanding sunlight

The conservatory furniture cushions have rotted in the sun (perhaps the ultimate first world problem).

Don't want "outdoor" fabric as it's sweaty (waterproof) and a bit sticky on bare legs.

Can't find out if polyester/polycotton is/can be UV stabilised.  Anyone here know?  Or should I just get a heavy cotton?  Web seems divided about whether lignin is susceptible or resistant; ditto polyester.  Any advice?  Don't mind the fading too much, but would rather the fabric didn't rot too fast!

In reply to Moacs:

I've never heard of cotton (which is my fabric of choice in warm climates) deteriorating in sunlight.

In reply to John Stainforth:

Cotton rots extremely fast, polyester can be easily treated to be UV resistant ( car seat belts). For cushions we always used one of the Tencate products for our yachts and sail covers in the Med.
